A relaxed way to meet local businesses
Networking doesn’t have to mean a room full of formal speeches or complicated introductions. Business & Bytes is designed to feel friendly, relaxed and welcoming. It’s a chance to talk about what you do, learn about other local businesses and see where a conversation might lead.
You don’t need to be an experienced networker. If this is your first networking event, we’ll help you feel at ease. If you’ve been to plenty before, you’ll still have time to meet new people and catch up with familiar faces. There’s no pressure to deliver a polished pitch. A simple introduction and an open mind are more than enough.
You might meet a potential collaborator, find a useful local contact or simply come away with a better sense of what’s happening in the Boston business community. The aim is to make it easier for local people to connect and support one another.
What happens during the two-hour session?
The morning follows a straightforward format, giving you a mix of time to chat freely and a little structure to help everyone get involved.
- 10:00am, Open networking: Arrive from 10:00am and start meeting other attendees.
- Introductions and round table: Everyone has an opportunity to say who they are and what they do.
- One-to-one networking: Spend time speaking with people individually and finding out more about their work.
- 12:00pm, Finish: The event wraps up at midday.
You’re welcome to introduce yourself, but there’s no need to feel put on the spot. The format is there to make meeting people easier, not to add pressure. Come ready to listen, share a little about your work and enjoy a friendly conversation.
